U18's Win Channel League Match V Glamorgan

The boys arrived at a very wet Swansea Bay, knowing they needed to win 10-5 to win the league outright, whilst a 9.5-5.5 win would see us in a tie with Somerset.

The rain dried up and play commenced, with some close play in the morning foursomes.

In the top game we were dormy 3 down but Brandon Skidmore and Ethan Holway managed to dig out a half, with some excellent play over the last 3 holes, including a great 15ft putt by Brandon on the last. Enzo Cryer and Finn Elis hung on for a win and Joel Warne and Will Rawlins were unlucky on the last as their opponents bounced off a bunker downslope to hole out for an unlikely eagle to half their match. Danny Townsend and Dan Berry played well to win 4&3, whilst Charlie Pearce-Ward holed a crucial putt on 18 to half the last match.

Gloucestershire coming out on top 3.5 v 1.5, giving a 2 point advantage heading into lunch.

In the afternoon we lost the first two after some excellent golf from two Welsh internationals.

We then won the next 4, needing 1.5 from the last 4 to win the match and 2 to draw the league. We lost games 7 and 8 leaving it all to Charlie Pearce-Ward and Roo Jones

Charlie wins on 17, to guarantee the win on the day and leave Roo to win 2/1 and ensure we draw the league

Thanks to Steve Sheppard and the parents who supported today.
