Conditions of Play, Qualification, Entry and Prizes
1. Conditions of Play
a. The Championship shall be stroke play played over 18 holes
b. 99 Competitors maximum shall be eligible to compete
2. Qualification
a. To be eligible to enter a player must:
i. Be in possession of a WHS Handicap Index not exceeding 28.0
1. The Championship committee may decide to accept an entry from a player with a handicap index higher than the maximum handicap index detailed in the terms of competition
2. If such an entry is accepted, the player’s playing handicap will not be limited in any way
3. Such an entry will only be accepted if space exists after the entry deadline is passed
ii. Be a current member of a GGU affiliated club
iii. Have a minimum of five 18 hole or equivalent qualifying scores (General Play and/or Competition scores) in their WHS Record in the preceding 12 months from the day the event closes for entry
1. If a player does not conform to iii at the entry deadline, their entry will be rejected and they will be issued a full refund.
3. Entries and Ballot
a. Entries to the Championship shall be made online by 19th June 2025, together with an entry fee of £25.00
b. Order of Play and Starting Times will be sent to competitors via email if provided.
c. Entries will be limited to 99 entries.
i. In the event that a competition is oversubscribed a reserve list will be maintained and managed by the County Secretary. Should a place or places become available, reserves shall be invited to play in the order that they are listed .
4. Prizes
a. The winner shall be the competitor who returns the lowest net score
i. The winner shall be awarded the Championship Salver that will be retained by the GGU
ii. There will be a prizes for the Runner Up, Third, Fourth and Fifth place only. Subject to change.
5. Practice rounds
a. Practice round arrangements will be communicated to competitors together with tee time allocations
