Morning Foursomes

After loosing the first hole Leo and Ollie fought back early in their match and didn't look back with a great display of foursomes golf to win 6&5

Reggie Phelps and Ollie Christopher played well but came up against a strong pairing and lost on the 17th hole.

Dan Berry and Sam Edlin's match was up and down but the Worcestershire pair played well around the turn to get ahead and win 4&3.

Djib Ali and Ted Ballard our reserve pairing played well and were always in control of this match and won 5&4 without too much drama.

Felix Beckett and Roo Jones started strongly and were 3 up through 13 holes but the fighting spirit of the Worcestershire pair meant they were never really out of it and this proved to be the case with them winning 4 of the last 5 holes to win their match 1 up.

Afternoon Singles

Leo and Cassius had a great game with Leo being 3 up after 9 holes but was pinned back to all square on the 16th green by great play from Cassius. Leo remained calm under pressure and ended up winning the last 2 holes to win 2 up.

Ollie Crowley came up against Mark Hewlett who started fast and was 3 under gross through 6 holes to be 3 up. Ollie although playing well himself couldn't recover from the fast start from his opponent and ended up being beaten 6&5.

Dan Berry went about his business as usual in a quiet unassuming manner by playing good solid golf and beat his opponent 2&1.

Reggie Phelps played well but was a couple down at the turn against Hayden Sarfo and couldn't seem to hole any putts to get back in the match. He ended up loosing 4&2 but was happy with how he played and felt he just didn't hole anything all afternoon.

Felix Beckett was down very early in his match (4 down through 8 holes) but fought hard to stay in the match and did well to keep the match going until the 16th green.

Ted Ballard's match was a topsy turvy affair with both players getting ahead and then being clawed back. Ted then turned the screw on the final few holes and won his match on the 17th hole.

Ollie Christopher and Lewis Tolley had a really close game with Ollie being up for most of the match but Lewis showed some real fight to keep plugging away at the lead and ended up getting ahead on the 16th hole and then won the 17th to win his match 2&1.

Djib Ali played some really good golf in the afternoon with his superior length off the tee putting pressure on his opponent. With the shorter shots into the green and some very good wedge play Djib ended up winning 6&5

Roo Jones struggled to get going in the afternoon but kept his chin up and fought hard but ended up loosing 5&3.

Sam Edlin had a real tight game and was always up but his opponent showed some real tenacity and fought hard but Sam kept his head and ended up winning 3&1.

Our congratulations go to Worcestershire who showed real fighting spirit and fought hard to win in a good close match that was played in a good spirit and thank you to Naunton Downs GC for having us.
