Over 50 qualifiers from their respective clubs took to Broadway GC on what was a spectacular day to compete for the Seniors County Stableford Trophy. There were two Divisions within the event, those with a Handicap Index of up to 12.4 comprised of Division 1 and Division 2 comprised of those with a Handicap Index of 12.5 and above.
The overall winner with the most stableford points for the day, 40, was Richard Edwards (Thornbury). With this meant that Richard also took the Division 2 title. In second in Division 2 on 37 points was Steve Chuter (Cotswold Hills) and just a further point back on 36 and in third was Christopher Johnson (Lydney).
The Division 1 winner was Chris Heaton (Knowle) with a great score of 38 points. In second and also on 38 points but losing out on countback was Sean Lynch (Minchinhampton). In third was Tony Hood (Thornbury) who was 2 shots adrift after scoring 36 points. Some great scoring throughout the field on what was a warm but breezy day.
Our thanks must go to everyone at Broadway GC from the members for allowing us the use of their golf course, the greenkeepers for preparing the course and the catering staff for keeping everyone fed and watered throughout the day. A thank you must also go to all the clubs who ran qualifiers for the event, we thank you for your support and hope to see everyone again in 2022.
