Gloucestershire Seniors just miss out to Glamorgan

Gloucestershire Seniors travelled with high expectations to Creigiau Golf Club for the Channel League encounter with Glamorgan.  An away win would keep pressure on Devon who are so far undefeated and head the league.

The morning session went Gloucestershire’s way with three wins and two halves.  A 4/1 lead was an excellent return and just four wins from ten in the afternoon would have delivered the required outcome.

With the first three matches being taken by Glamorgan it was down to Mike Jarvis and Tim Clink to gain some points.  They both won their matches but had to fight to the end in order to do so.  Rich Wood added a seventh point but Gloucestershire were unable to take anything from the tail matches and the match was won by Glamorgan 8/7.

Given the strength of the Gloucestershire team, Glamorgan were justifiably pleased but nevertheless relieved at the outcome.  Gloucestershire have two matches left in the Channel League and need wins in both.
