Seniors Stableford Final
Over 50 Seniors took to Cotswold Edge GC to compete for the Seniors County Stableford title. The day started with a very autumnal feel to it with the threat of rain looking to effect the late starters. All those present had qualified through their club qualifier in either Division 1 which was for those with Handicap Index's up to 12.4 or Division 2 for those with Handicap Index's of 12.5 and above. The course was presented beautifully by the Greenkeeping team at Cotswold Edge and players enjoyed a 2-course meal following their round. It was nip and tuck at the top but the Divisional scoring was as follows:
Division 1:
1st - Bill Lawrence (Ross-on-Wye) 35 points (countback back 9) and Overall Winner
2nd - Vince Taylor (Cotswold Edge) 33 points
3rd - Ben Bennett (Long Ashton) 33 points
Division 2:
1st - Paul Brady (Shirehampton Park) 35 points (countback back 9)
2nd - Chris Tait (Stinchcombe Hill) 34 points
3rd - Chris Hawkes (Henbury) 33 points
Well done to the prize winners above and a special mention for Bill Lawrence as the overall Champion. Bill's victory gives him an exemption into next years final. Thank you to all the clubs who held qualifiers this year and we hope that more clubs will do the same in 2025. Our thanks go to all at Cotswold Edge GC for all that they did to host the event and for their warm hospitality throughout.
