The Presidents Cup

After many rounds of the Presidents Cup only 4 teams remained and they would do battle at Ross-on-Wye on Sunday 6th October looking to be crowned Champions. The Semi final match ups were Shirehampton Park v Gloucester and Lansdown v Minchinhampton. With the weather in the lead up to the event wet to say the least, the conditions were very challenging but all at Ross-on-Wye GC did all they could and did a great job presenting the course as they did.

Gloucester were victorious is their semi final by the margin of 3-2 and in the other semi final Minchinhampton beat Lansdown 4-1. This set up a final between Gloucester v Minchinhampton.

After the first 4 matches the final was tied at 2-2 which left the trophy finely poised. It was the Gloucester pair who were victorious in the final match out on he course which secured the 2024 Presidents Cup The final score being a 3-2 win for Gloucester. Congratulations to the team and to Captain Partha Dutta.

Our thanks must go to Ross-on-Wye Golf club and its members for allowing us the use of the course and for keeping everyone fed and watered throughout the day. We truly appreciate it. We hope to see many clubs enter the Presidents Cup next year where Gloucester GC will look to defend their title.
