Seniors Scratch Foursomes

After many rounds of the Seniors Scratch Foursomes Salver only 4 teams remained and they would do battle at Ross-on-Wye on Sunday 6th October looking to be crowned Champions. The Semi final match ups were Minchinhampton v The Players and Brickhampton Court v Broadway. With the weather in the lead up to the event wet to say the least, the conditions were very challenging but all at Ross-on-Wye GC did all they could and did a great job presenting the course as they did.

The winners of the first semi final were Minchinhampton who were victorious over The Players by 2 - 1. In the second semi final it was Brickhampton Court who made their way into the final by beating Broadway by 2.5 - 0.5. This set up an afternoon final in the Seniors Scratch Foursomes Final between Minchinhampton v Brickhampton Court.

The final was a very exciting affair with Minchinhampton and Brickhampton Court fighting it out right to the end but the Minchinhampton team prevailed 2.5-0.5. Well done to the Minchinhampton team captained by David Sandilands.

Our thanks must go to Ross-on-Wye Golf club and its members for allowing us the use of the course and for keeping everyone fed and watered throughout the day. We truly appreciate it. We hope to see many clubs enter the Seniors Scratch Foursomes next year where Minchinhampton GC will look to defend their title.
