Gloucestershire U16 Boys Vs Gloucestershire Girls

We were greated by a cold and brisk wind, on a bright day on the Hill.

The course was in lovely condition but the like of which not many of them had experienced before.

The Girls drove fantastically off the first hole, with Taylor Hodgson comfortably the longest (and straightest) player from both sides.

All games were close

Game 1 was 2up after 9, back to level after 13, with the Boys battling back to win 3&1

Game 2 was 3up after 9, back to 1up after 13, eventually with the girls fighting to secure a draw on 18

Game 3 was 1 down after 9, 2 down after 13, with the girls closing out to win 2up

Game 4 was 1mdown after 9, 1 up after 13, eventually finishing with a great half

Game 5 was 4mdown after 5, after a storming start from the girls, but they were pegged back to level on 9 after a near hole out for 2 by the boys, then back to 2 down after 13, before the girls winning 4&2

Game 6 was 5up after 9, dormy 6 up after 12 but the girls then dug in and fought back for the boys to finallky close it out 3&1

The eventual score being an honourable half, with some fantastic playing from both sides, but most impressively from the very young girls and the two new county u16 players - Fergus Mort and  Alex Linton.
