English Schools U16 Championships Results
The English Schools U16 National Championship took place at Wilmslow Golf Club, Cheshire.
The following players took part from Avon Schools, all flying the flag for Bristol and Clifton!!! (Sadly no players from Gloucestershire Schools were available to play)
Oscar Linton – Avon - Gordano School - Bristol and Clifton
Ernie Elford – Avon – QEH School - Bristol and Clifton
Jack Lockwood – Avon – Clifton College - Bristol and Clifton
Mariella Buchanan – Avon – Backwell School – Bristol and Clifton

Mariella finished as runner-up, with both rounds under par, finishing at 3 under par for the tournament
Oscar had a brilliant first round at 69 – 3 under par but the afternoon brought a 77, finishing 2 over par for the tournament, all on the back of the county men’s championship of 72 holes over the weekend!
Oscar Linton came 7th, Jack Lockwood 9th and Ernie Elford 17th out of 40 entries so they all were top half in a good field.
Well done to all the players for their efforts.
Sadly only the winning boy and girl are selected to play in the international schools match England v Wales later in the year.
