Peter Scott Trophy (Executive & Support)

Peter Scott Trophy

The Peter Scott Trophy is played for by members of the GGU executive and support staff and is played in memory of the many years Peter was chairman of the GGU Championship Committee.

The original entry list was decimated by injuries and illness and eventually only six players arrived at Cleeve Hill ready to tee up. Cleeve Hill was in one of its less benevolent moods and the clouds descended just before play started making visibility limited and leading to a number of lost balls however the players always knew where Alan Robinson was as he had one of the noisiest buggies ever known to man.

There was some good play but eventually conditions were such that following the 9th hole the players moved to the 15th hole for a shortened round.

At the end of an enjoyable day the final result was a close run thing with a win for Debbie Casling by one shot from Dean Newbold, the President was a further shot behind.

Our thanks to Cleeve Hill Golf for the use of the course and to the clubhouse staff for keeping us fed and watered.

Richard Salter President
