Gloucestershire Golf Union to Incorporate 1st January 2026
MESSAGE FROM MARK POWELL, CHAIRMAN
I write to you to confirm that last night (Tuesday 21st October) was a historic night for the Gloucestershire Golf Union. I am delighted to inform you that the votes taken in accordance with the proposal to incorporate were all supported unanimously. My sincere thanks to all who attended the Council meeting yesterday and for taking time out of their busy schedules to show their continued support of golf in Gloucestershire and us continuing to improve for the benefit of all our members, thank you.
While this is an important milestone in our history, as we have stressed before, fundamentally how we operate will not change significantly, with our clubs and members at the heart of all that we do.
There is still a lot that we need to do before we can begin to trade on Jan 1st ’26 and the first step is that in the coming days, Dean will be sending a ‘Form of Invitation’ to all member clubs of which we must receive a signed copy of in order for you to signal your intent to be part of the new company.
Thank you once again for your unanimous support and for safeguarding our organisation for many generations to come.
